In Delhi, he started writing for The Illustrated Weekly of India and The London Times. Later, he became an Art and Drama critic for The Statesman, Delhi and Calcutta. It was in Delhi that Harbhajan produced some of the best European works on stage.
After an extremely successful and satisfying period in India, he once again returned to London and joined BBC TV as a Researcher in the Arts and Features department. Within a short time, he moved to Drama department and worked in the Series, Serials and Plays departments. He later got trained as a Film Director and remained with them for 25 years.
With Simon Channing-Williams, another colleague from the BBC and now one of the most prolific producers, they established,
Imagine Films Ltd., and developed projects like, THE ELEPHANT GOD and COMBAT OF SHADOWS etc.
His only Hindi film, TERI MOHABBAT KE NAAM (1998) starred Ashvini Bhave, Mohnish Bahal, Kulbushan Kharbanda and introduced Salim Khan.
Harbhajan has nurtured the idea for his latest film, A DISTANT MIRAGE for the past 15 years and thanks to a MR.G.K., who had full faith and trust in the project, Harbhajan's dream has finally come true.
